BOOK CHAPTER Visitor-centered exhibitions and edu-curation in art museums
Participants: The Wasteland Research Group and The Studio group
Purpose: To explore how philosophical inquiry has supported the collaborative curation process for both The Wasteland and the Studio group.
This unusual curatorial democracy led to us collaborating together on a multi-authored chapter to explore the role that philosophical inquiry had played in their process,
Starting with a dividing line inquiry about decision making, we then followed with a philosophical inquiry to deepen the thinking and reflect on the relationship of philosophical inquiry to collective discussion and decision making in community curation. The inquiry also brought to light thoughts about success and value within the projects.
Is decision-making about going with the majority?
How do we measure success?
